Linen Blend Dress / Short Floral Dress
One of my go-to clothing pieces in the summer is an easy, feminine dress. I look to nothing other than the French-girl aesthetic for inspiration. A key feature of the French-girl style is florals. This ruched floral dress is one of my favorite floral dresses this season. The pattern and cool colors of this dress are unlike many other floral items I’ve seen this summer. I’m also loving this floral dress from H&M. It’s only $25 and the perfect dress if you want to look effortlessly put-together.
Along with floral prints, midi lengths are another element of the French-girl look. I’m obsessed with this scoop neck midi dress from Abercrombie & Fitch (and I never thought I’d shop here again after middle school). Despite its longer length, the cut-outs and side slit make it feel youthful and subtly sexy. This one from Mango is another lovely mid-length if you love polka dots and an affordable price.
Another aspect of the French-girl style is puff sleeves. I’m usually not a fan of pastel pink, but I’m even enticed by this pink puff sleeve dress from & Other Stories. However, my favorite puff sleeve dress I’ve found is this linen blend one from Zara. It looks like something I might splurge on at Reformation, but it’s way less expensive. I can imagine myself wearing this with pair of strappy sandals and a small shoulder bag for an afternoon stroll through the city or happy hour with friends.
