Shackets (or shirt jackets) are trending again this fall, and I cannot wait to wear them during the cooler months. Besides being incredibly comfortable, the shacket is the ultimate versatile outwear item to have in your fall and winter wardrobe. Wear it over any fall ensemble during when it’s warmer, or layer it under your winter coat for extra warmth when it’s cold. Although they can be worn casually, you can easily dress shackets up with a pair of knee high boots and a dress underneath. I also love styling them with slim-fit jeans and a pair of chunky boots.

The shirt jacket that I’m most tempted to buy this season is this black check one from & Other Stories. Unfortunately, I found this one while shopping on the France site, and I haven’t been able to find it on the U.S. one (hopefully they will release it there soon!). I’m obsessed with the classic look of this shacket. Plus the smaller buttons make it feel less like a casual flannel and more like a chic jacket. I found this similar (and more affordable) style from Mango that features a comparable houndstooth pattern. If this style is not your favorite, I’d still suggest browsing & Other Stories for other shacket styles. I found so many different ones that I’m convinced they have the best selection.

Another popular trend this autumn is leather, so consider being extra trendy in this faux leather shirt jacket. The belt on this jacket gives a super flattering fit, and the piece will cost you less than $100. If you’re not into leather looks, then consider this other black shacket from Arket. I love the wool material and relaxed fit of this jacket.

Many designer brands are also releasing their versions of the shacket. If you really want to splurge, Nanushka has some beautiful jackets this season like this camel one. Thankfully, this trend is easily dupable. I found a similar camel shacket from Topshop for under $100 (again, I only found this on the France site).

Thank you for reading! Are you a fan of the shacket?
