Cozy Night In Essentials

Lately I’ve been prioritizing cozy nights indoors. When the weather gets colder and the sun begins to set earlier, an evening of self-care often intrigues me more than a long night out. Most evenings like these start with a long bath and some self-care rituals like writing, baking or reading. Then I’ll usually watch a seasonal movie and sip on a cup of tea. To ensure my night is extra enjoyable, I reach for some cozy essentials. If you’d like to recreate your own comfy night in, I hope you’ll take inspiration from my go-to items for a relaxing evening indoors.

Outfit

Comfy clothes are an obvious must-have for a night in. A soft sweater or a long-sleeve tee paired with knit pants is the perfect combo to start your outfit. I don’t splurge too much on my loungewear since no one really sees me wearing it. One of my favorite stores to shop basic, inexpensive loungewear is H&M. You can find several pieces that are equally chic as cozy.

Next, I add a robe or a wrap cardigan (my favorite option) for extra warmth. Layers are the key for creating a super comfy outfit. You also cannot go wrong with some thick socks and a pair of slippers. I’ve been eyeing these faux fur ones from & Other Stories that I’m sure to purchase in the next weeks. If you want to feel a little sexier on your night in, a lingerie set is essential. I love this non-padded, lacy bra that’s much more comfortable than your typical bra.

Atmosphere

Once I’m wearing something comfortable, I try to create a cozy atmosphere. First, start with a clean, tidy space. It’s difficult to relax and enjoy your evening indoors when your environment is a mess. Next, you can set the mood by lighting some seasonal candles. I’m obsessed with this Diptyque Feu de Bois dupe I found on Amazon recently.

I also like to add some extra blankets to my space so I can easily curl up with one when I’m feeling cold. Bring out the pillows for even more comfort. Lastly, I like to steep some tea and sometimes prepare a snack for my night in. Black tea has been my go-to recently, so I’ve been loving this London fog blend from Harney & Sons (one of my favorite brands). It’s tastes divine with a splash of non-dairy milk.

Beauty

An evening indoors is the perfect time to pamper yourself. A quality bath bomb and a creamy shower gel are my essentials for a relaxing shower or bath. You can also add a rich body crème, a hydrating face mask and any other indulgent skincare items. My day-to-day skincare routine is often simple and quick, but during a night in, I spend more time applying my products and even add extra serums and creams to my routine.
