In the past few years, I’ve tried several different perfumes to find the ones that smell best on me. Most often I find myself gravitating towards fruity and floral scents as they are usually less intense and perfect for everyday. Although I love masculine, clean and woodsy scents, I reserve these types of scents for dates or the evening.

Although I’d love to have an extension collection of perfumes, I limit myself to keeping 2-3 at a time (usually at least one day and one night perfume). This allows me to maintain a more minimalistic beauty collection of products that I truly enjoy using and wearing. I still love trying out new fragrances, and when I get low on one perfume, I’m usually ordering something different to try. It’s the perfect confidence booster too — like wearing a new outfit or getting a blowout.

If you’re interested in trying a new perfume, I’d recommend trying a small sample size for a week or so to see how the fragrance smells on you. Your body chemistry can really affect the way a perfume smells, so it’s a good idea to test it before you splurge on it.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

I remember being intrigued by the classic Chanel No. 5 perfume when I was younger. Once I actually smelled the fragrance, I realized it was too mature for my taste. Then I discovered Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, which is a more “youthful”, floral-woody fragrance. It’s not too intense or perfume-y, so it’s become one of my favorites for everyday. If you’re looking for an elegant, versatile perfume, then I’d recommend this one.

This scent reminds me a lot of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle: light, fresh and perfect for everyday. However, Chloé is less expensive and has a more floral scent with peony, rose and magnolia. I’m currently wearing this as my everyday scent, and I’ve been loving it! Even my boyfriend compliments me when I’m wearing it. If you’re looking for a timeless, romantic perfume, then try this one.

Yves Saint Laurent Libre

Although I love fresh, floral scents, I’ve been trying out perfumes with different accords. One of my favorites has been Yves Saint Laurent Libre. Although it’s possibly a little sexier than my other favorite perfumes, it’s a great scent for everyday and transitions nicely as an evening fragrance. It still has some floral notes amidst lavender, orange blossom and neroli. If you’re looking for a cool, everyday perfume, you must try this one.

Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc

One of my favorite perfumes during the summer months is Tom Ford’s Eau de Soleil Blanc. It’s a delicious blend of citrus and spice that feels ultra luxurious. It’s definitely not a perfume that I wear everyday (it’s expensive), but it’s the perfect scent for summer days when you want to feel extra lavish. If you’re looking for a luxe, summer perfume, give this one a try.
