If you’ve ever lived in France (or even spent more than a few weeks here), you know the feeling. No matter how incredible the lifestyle is here, there are a few American staples you can’t help but miss. Target runs. Trader Joe’s hauls. Browsing the latest at Anthropologie. And, of course, Bath & Body Works.
For decades, Bath & Body Works has been one of America’s leading cosmetic brands, known for its affordable fragrances, skincare products, and home essentials.
And while France is home to some of the best beauty brands in the world, many of us American women living abroad still find ourselves missing Bath & Body Works.
For me, it’s the gourmand scents that are hardest to replace. Ultra-sweet, bakery-inspired fragrances (like B&BW’s best-selling Strawberry Pound Cake) just aren’t as popular here in France.
Lately, I’ve been especially obsessed with the brand’s newer line of luxury fragrance “dupes.” I sampled Covered in Roses (a near twin to Parfums de Marly Delina) on a recent trip back to the States. Needless to say, I’m still kicking myself for not picking up the entire collection while I had the chance.
So if you’re wondering whether you can shop Bath & Body Works in France, here’s everything you need to know, plus the best alternatives that are far easier to find across Europe.
Is There a Bath & Body Works in France?
The short answer is no, there are no official Bath & Body Works stores in France right now. While the brand has several locations in Europe, it hasn’t (yet) landed a standalone boutique anywhere in the country (not even Paris).
If you’re only visiting France for a short stay, this may not matter much. But for us expats who miss stocking up on favorite scents (mine is Mahogany Teakwood) the absence is definitely felt. But for now, it’s just the reality of how the brand has rolled out across Europe so far.
Bath & Body Works Locations in Europe
While you won’t find Bath & Body Works in France, the brand does have a presence in Europe, though it’s still limited compared to the U.S.
Bath & Body Works operates in more than 30 countries outside North America. As of 2026, its European locations include Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Romania, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
And for my German readers: there’s exciting news. Bath & Body Works is planning to expand further into Germany, with an online store and up to 20 new locations across neighboring EU markets. I live in Strasbourg, right on the German border, so I’m especially looking forward to this!
Where to Shop Bath & Body Works in France
Even without physical stores, there are still solid ways to get your hands on Bath & Body Works candles, body sprays, and lotions while living in France. Here’s where I suggest you shop.
1. Bath & Body Works Italy
Some European Bath & Body Works franchise websites (like the Italian one) will ship to France directly. To test it out, I loaded my cart with a variety of products, and shipping came to around €11. They also seem to run major promotions. I even saw their famous semi-annual sale in full swing while browsing the site. This is easily one of the most reliable ways to get your favorite Bath & Body Works products in France.
2. Unlimitedbrands
I would also highly recommend Unlimitedbrands, a German online shop that specializes exclusively in Bath & Body Works. They ship to France and most other European countries. After checking it out myself, I can vouch that the selection is fantastic, and they appear to carry all the latest products. I even spotted one of my hard-to-find favorites, the Book Loft candle, which smells remarkably similar to Glossier’s You perfume.
3. Makeup.fr
The selection can be hit or miss, but Makeup.fr carries some Bath & Body Works products, including body lotions, candles, and wallflowers. Although they have hundreds of items listed, many of them are out of stock. This one is worth checking, but might not be the most reliable.
4. Notino
I do a lot of my beauty shopping on Notino, and if you live in Europe, you probably do too. They carry a modest selection of Bath & Body Works products, from candles to car fresheners. Similar to Makeup.fr, the stock seems to be a bit unpredictable. Many items are listed but often show as out of stock.
Alternatives to Bath & Body Works in France
Maybe the shipping costs feel steep. Or maybe you’re ready to discover more local French beauty brands. Either way, France has excellent alternatives for both body care and home fragrance. Many of these have become my go-to’s when I want luxurious scents that don’t break the bank.
Rituals. The Amsterdam-based brand offers luxury home and body products, from candles to diffusers and spa-like scents. Found in malls across France, I personally love their Ritual of Jing candle and home mist! I’ve been using it ever since I moved into my current apartment three years ago.
Yves Rocher. A natural beauty brand from Brittany that’s widely available and affordable. Shop scented lotions, shower gels, and body mists, similar to the ones you’ll find at Bath & Body Works.
L’Occitane en Provence. Famous for beautifully scented hand creams, lotions, and bath products. A classic French brand you can find all over the country. I highly suggest their cult-favorite Almond Shower Oil (which I recently became obsessed with myself!)
Fragonard. An iconic French fragrance brand. Not the cheapest option, but perfect if you’re looking for quality perfume and scented body care products. Be sure to check out my guide to the best Fragonard fragrances!
French pharmacies. Don’t overlook the hidden gems at the French pharmacy! You can find many affordable, scented products. Some of my favorites include Roger & Gallet, Collines de Provence, Nuxe, and Caudalie. Final Thoughts on Bath & Body Works in France
Even though there’s no Bath & Body Works in France, you can still get your favorites online with the tips above.
Of course, you can always sneak a few favorites into your suitcase. I love bringing back scented hand sanitizers or candles as gifts for friends when I’m back in the U.S.
