Paris might be one of the Big Four fashion capital of the world, but it’s also a top destination for beauty lovers. Whether you're looking for cult French pharmacy finds, high-end skincare, niche fragrances, or organic beauty brands, the City of Light has something to satisfy every beauty obsession.

From historic department stores to trendy concept boutiques, here are the 15 best beauty stores in Paris you won’t want to miss. Many of these spots are ones I’ve discovered while living in France.

If you’re wondering where to buy beauty products in Paris, consider this your ultimate shopping guide.

Best Beauty Stores in Paris

1. Le Bon Marché

One of the oldest department stores in Paris, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche is a destination in itself. Its beauty section is highly curated with exclusive skincare, premium perfumes, cutting-edge beauty tech and a thoughtful mix of French and international brands.

On the ground floor, the biggest names in beauty showcase their skincare and fragrance collections. Head to L’Atelier Maquillage on the first floor for the best makeup brands, as well as a dedicated space for wellness and holistic beauty.

Le Bon Marché also offers a variety of services such as threading at Blink Brow Bar, makeup lessons, facial massages, and even professional makeovers. You can also treat yourself to a manicure by Kure Bazaar or refresh your tresses at the Sébastien Besnier hair salon. Book a session at L’Institut Le Bon Marché, which offers an extensive menu of facials and advanced skincare treatments.

P.S. Le Bon Marché is also the only department store in Paris to have its own Buly 1803 counter. I bought a few items there myself, and it was much less crowded than their standalone stores. I was actually the only one there! The selection is a bit more limited, but the service was far more attentive. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’ll be shopping at Le Bon Marché already.

2. Galeries Lafayette

An iconic Haussmannian landmark, Galeries Lafayette is another top spot for beauty enthusiasts visiting France. Beneath its beautiful Art Nouveau glass dome, you'll find one of the most expansive beauty floors in Paris.

The ground-floor atrium is dedicated to the finest in skincare, cosmetics, and fragrance. You can find French heritage brands like Chanel, Dior, and Clarins, alongside newer names such as Seasonly and Filles en Rouje.

Beyond traditional beauty, Galeries Lafayette also features the Wellness Galerie, a unique space dedicated to holistic self-care. This sanctuary brings together wellness, beauty, energy, and exercise (they even have their own sports club!).

You also don’t want to miss the rooftop terrasse with panoramic views of Paris or the several in-store restaurants.

I personally do a lot of my beauty shopping at the Galeries Lafayette in Strasbourg.

3. Printemps

Another renowned Parisian department store, Printemps has been a pillar of luxury retail since 1865. Inside its Haussmann location, you’ll find a full spectrum of major beauty counters, a dedicated fragrance space, and helpful beauty advisors ready to assist with personalized product recommendations.

Clean beauty fans should head straight to the Green Market, a contemporary space dedicated to products made with natural ingredients and formulas. This area features everything from organic skincare and makeup to hair care, wellness supplements, and fragrances.

You might also indulge in some pampering at the La Praire Spa, or enjoy a personalized skin consultation at L’Espace Officine.

After a day of beauty shopping, grab a coffee or cocktail at the Bar Perché, one of my favorite rooftop bars in Paris.

If you're a fan of the French skincare brand Typology, you'll be excited to know that Printemps Haussmann hosts the only physical pop-up location in France! I went to Printemps specifically for this reason on my most recent trip to Paris. The selection was more limited than what you can shop online, but definitely still worth visiting. I picked up their brow and lash serum and tinted lip balm.

4. Samaritaine

Recently reopened in 2021, Samaritaine offers a luxurious beauty shopping experience within a stunning Art Nouveau building.

Located in the first arrondissement near the Pont-Neuf metro station, this Parisian department store, now owned by LVMH, houses the largest beauty space in Europe. On the lower level, you’ll find prestigious names in fragrances, makeup and skincare, as well as the Cinq Mondes Spa and a special concept area for niche perfumes.

There are also talented experts for personalized hairdressing and manicure services in the Studio de Beauté. Makeup services, skin assessments and treatment cabins are also the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself in Paris.

Some notable brands I’d recommend shopping at Samaraitaine: La Bouche Rouge, Fragonard, and Clé de Peau Beauté.

5. Sephora

The Sephora flagship on the Champs-Élysées is one of the largest in the world. If you're used to shopping at an average Sephora in the U.S., prepare to be amazed.

Conveniently located on Paris’s most famous avenue, it’s a go-to destination for makeup, skincare, and fragrance from every major name in beauty. You’ll even find exclusive brands not available in U.S. Sephora stores, including MAC, By Terry, Serge Lutens, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, and Narciso Rodriguez.

The store also features a variety of interactive services, from makeup tutorials and skincare consultations to a nail bar, brow bar, and personalized fragrance engraving.

While there are several locations throughout Paris, the Champs-Élysées store is the biggest Sephora in Paris, and definitely worth it for beauty shopping in the French capital.

6. Guerlain

The Guerlain boutique on the Champs-Élysées is every bit as luxurious as the brand itself. Stepping inside feels more like entering a fragrance museum than a retail space with its opulent interiors and exquisite attention to detail.

La Maison Guerlain offers a range of bespoke services, including the creation of your own personalized scent. You can even design your own made-to-measure Bee Bottle for a truly special Paris souvenir.

The personalization options continue with engraved perfume bottles and custom Rouge G lipsticks. If you already own a Guerlain fragrance, this is the perfect place to refill your bottle.

Beyond perfume, the boutique showcases the full range of Guerlain’s prestigious skincare and makeup lines with expert consultants on hand to give tailored recommendations for your beauty goals.

In the same place, you can visit the Institut Guerlain, the in-house spa and beauty salon.

Although you can find Guerlain at many Parisian department stores, the special services and beauty of the store itself, in my opinion, make it merit the trip!

Address: 68 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris

7. Buly 1803

L'Officine Universelle Buly, or Buly 1803, is the charming Parisian apothecary and beauty store that has more recently gone viral online. They now have three retail locations in Paris (plus a massage room and a beauty counter at Le Bon Marché).

Inside each of their boutiques, dark wood walls and French marble countertops are lined with luxurious handmade soaps, water-based perfumes, and richly fragranced oils in beautiful vintage-esque bottles.

It’s also the place to pick up their now-iconic lip balms, personalized combs and hairbrushes, skincare and even oral care products.

During my last visit, the store I went to in the Marais was quite busy but still fun to explore. I purchased the Iris de Malte oil, which has a similar iris note as my favorite Glossier You perfume. I’ve also gifted their lip balms too, and they’re always a hit.

Petit tip: If you know what you want, place your order online in advance and pick up in-store. Many customers want things personalization, so waiting for assistance can be long.

Address: 45 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Paris

8. Pharmacie Monge

makeup shops in paris

No roundup of the best beauty stores in Paris would be complete without mentioning the French pharmacy. In France, pharmacies aren’t just for refilling prescriptions. The glowing green cross marks the spot for affordable, effective beauty products too.

You’ll find pharmacies on nearly every street corner in Paris, but my personal favorite is Monge Pharmacy, located not far from Notre Dame. Here you can find an excellent selection of favorite French brands like Nuxe, Caudalie, Bioderma, Avène, La Roche-Posay, and Klorane.

There are always trained consultants and pharmacists available to answer questions and help guide you toward the right products too.

I also have a special discount code for you when you shop at Monge Pharmacy. Just show this QR code to the cashier when you check out. If you spend enough, you can also claim the VAT refund, making it an even better deal (up to 30% off!).

If you’re new to French pharmacy beauty, don’t miss my curated lists of the best French pharmacy products and skincare brands. You can also see what I picked up during my last visit on my TikTok for a closer look at my haul and recommendations.

9. Caudalie

beauty stores in paris

You’ll find at least one Caudalie product in nearly every French girl’s bathroom cabinet. The French beauty brand is known for its clean, plant-based formulas derived from grapevine extracts.

While you can find Caudalie products in most French pharmacies, true fans will want to visit the Caudalie boutique and spa located in the Marais neighborhood. On the ground floor, you’ll find all of the best Caudalie products. Head upstairs and treat yourself to massages, facials, and exclusive body rituals at the spa.

After your treatment, take time to browse some of Caudalie's bestselling products. The beauty advisors are there to help you create a personalized routine to prolong the benefits of your spa visit.

And if you’re a member of the MYCAUDALIE loyalty program, you can earn points on spa treatments too!

Caudalie also has boutique-spa locations in Abbesses and Saint-Sulpice.

Address: 8 Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, 75003 Paris

10. Oh My Cream!

Oh My Cream!

For clean beauty lovers, Oh My Cream! should be at the very top of your Paris itinerary. The concept store offers a curated selection of natural and niche brands like Augustinus Bader, Ilia, Tata Harper and Violette_FR.

Their in-house line, Oh My Cream Skincare, features a range of expertly-formulated skincare basics designed to help you simplify your regimen.

With multiple locations across Paris, you can stock up on clean makeup, haircare, fragrance, wellness supplements, and beauty tools. I’m personally obsessed with their advent calendars that come out every year around the holidays.

You can also book in-store treatments like a hydrating facial by Tata Harper or an infrared sauna session.

To me, Oh My Cream! feels like the French version of Goop: natural, but still very elevated and cool. They even carry Goop Beauty and did an interview with the brand’s founder, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Address: 78 Rue Montmartre, 75002 Paris

11. Aroma-Zone

beauty store in france

If you're into DIY beauty or essential oils, Aroma-Zone is one of the best natural cosmetic stores in Paris. It’s affordable, sustainable, and fully stocked with raw ingredients to make your own skincare or purchase wellness essentials.

You’ll find everything from organic essential oils, carrier oils, plant powders, and cosmetic bases to personalized skincare kits, superfood powders, herbal teas, and even supplies for candles, natural laundry care, and diffusers.

I’m not normally a do-it-yourself fan, but I got so inspired just by browsing their Instagram. They have tutorials on how to make everything from glowing bronzing oils and self-tanning serums to green tea pancakes, golden lattes and other beauty-inspired recipes.

Address: 73 Boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris

12. Yves Rocher

Yves Rocher combines affordability with eco-conscious beauty. With stores all over Paris, it’s one of the best French cosmetic stores for natural skincare, haircare, makeup, fragrance, and body care at reasonable prices.

Even though it doesn’t garner as much attention in the U.S., Yves Rocher is actually one of the most popular beauty brands in France. I personally love shopping here for shower gels and body lotions. It reminds me of going to Bath & Body Works and picking out a bunch of products all in the same scent.

Other customer favorites include the Riche Crème Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream, Monoï Dry Oil, and Comme Une Evidence perfume.

Many Paris locations also feature in-store beauty salons, with a full menu of treatments including facials, body massages, slimming treatments, hair removal, and custom skincare services.

Address: 104 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris

13. Fragonard

paris cosmetics brands

Some of the most iconic perfume houses have boutiques in Paris, and Fragonard is one of the most beloved. Founded in 1926 in Grasse ("Perfume Capital of the World") Fragonard has been crafting fragrances for nearly a century.

Their Paris boutiques are filled with wonderfully fragrant perfumes, soaps, and skincare that are all accessible in price. I’m partial to Belle Chérie, the very first fragrance I bought in France (it’s still a madeleine de Proust for me).

In addition to fragrance, Fragonard also carries clothing, accessories, and home linens, all of which make for thoughtful souvenirs or gifts.

If you have the time, be sure to visit the Fragonard Perfume Museum in the 9th arrondissement. It’s free to visit and offers a fascinating look into the history and artistry of French perfume.

Address: 5 Rue Boudreau, 75009 Paris

14. Diptyque

paris beauty shopping

Famous for its luxury candles and signature fragrances, Diptyque’s boutiques in Paris are an absolute must for fans of the French perfumer.

Start at the flagship store at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain, the birthplace of the brand and the inspiration behind their iconic “34” scent. The store offerings are almost identical to those in the U.S. with the exception of some room sprays like Mimosa and Lavender Leaf (I haven’t seen these outside of France).

For serious Diptyque shoppers, the Rue Duphot store is not to be missed. Designed like an aesthetic Parisian apartment, it’s full of little rooms showcasing the brand’s products and even a garden space.

This boutique also offers exclusive items not sold online, including home decor, limited-edition formats, and the signature Rue Duphot candle. They even carry the Paris city candle, another beautiful souvenir to bring home. You can enjoy special services like personalized engraving and fragrance consultations too.

Not only are many Diptyque products more affordable in France, but the VAT refund makes it an even better deal.

Address: 7 Rue Duphot, 75001 Paris, France

15. NOSE

If you’re searching for your next signature scent in the City of Light, NOSE is the niche perfume boutique that offers a personalized scent diagnostic.

Explore a carefully curated selection of over 500 perfumes and 1,500 references, featuring more than 90 niche fragrance houses including Creed, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Diptyque, and Frédéric Malle.

Their store in the 2nd arrondissement features rare and artisanal perfumes that you won’t find anywhere else, with guidance from in-store scent experts.

You can even do their diagnosis online and get five perfume recommendations based on your preferences. From there, you can order sample sizes to test at home before committing to a full bottle.

And if fragrance isn’t your focus, NOSE also offers a curated selection of luxury cosmetics and skincare.

Address: 20 Rue Bachaumont, 75002 Paris

More Beauty Stores in Paris

These are just my top 15 beauty stores in Paris, but there are many more to discover!

If you love Sephora, I recommend checking out two of France’s biggest beauty chains: Marionnaud and Nocibé. Both are tried-and-true shops for cosmetics from France and around the world. They also offer frequent promotions and excellent gift sets. If you plan to shop there frequently, definitely sign up for their loyalty programs!

Don’t overlook Monoprix either, the French version of Target where you can find affordable beauty products from brands like Bourjois, L'Oréal and Garnier. That said, L'Oréal products aren’t necessarily cheaper in France! In fact, they can be pricier than in the U.S., so I usually stock up on those back home.

Some Monoprix locations even have their own parapharmacies, where you can pick up French pharmacy products from the most popular brands.

As we’ve already discussed, Paris is a paradise for perfume. Two more niche spots worth visiting are Memo Paris and Liquides.

Now let’s talk about a few non-French beauty brands that are worth visiting in Paris. Le Labo may be New York-born, but its Paris boutique is the only place you can buy Vanille 44, a smoky vanilla fragrance with notes of amber, incense, and wood. This Paris-exclusive scent makes the boutique a must-visit if you’re a serious perfume collector.

If you love the old-world apothecary feel of Buly, don’t miss Santa Maria Novella. This historic brand was founded in Florence in 1542, and many of its original formulas are still sold today. They have three Paris boutiques that I think many of you would love.

Final Thoughts on the Best Beauty Stores in Paris

When it comes to beauty shopping, Paris offers the crème de la crème of skincare, fragrance, and makeup. Iconic department stores, French pharmacies, niche concept stores, and spa-boutique hybrids, there is so much to discover if you’re traveling to Paris soon.

Before you go, a few tips to make the most of your visit:

  • Plan around store hours. Many shops are closed on Sundays, but some major stores along the Champs-Élysées and in popular shopping districts stay open.

  • Visit individual boutiques. Visiting stand-alone stores like Diptyque, Guerlain, or Caudalie lets you really experience each brand from presentation and packaging to product range. If you're short on time, though, the large department stores like Le Bon Marché or Galeries Lafayette carry most major brands under one roof.

  • Take advantage of the VAT refund. If you live outside the EU and spend €100 or more in a single store on the same day, you may be eligible for a 20% tax refund (which adds up quickly when shopping for beauty).

  • Don’t hesitate to ask for help. The beauty advisors and staff in Parisian stores are often incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and helpful, especially when it comes to tailoring recommendations to your needs.
