Café culture is a major part of everyday life in Paris. Locals spend hours at terraces sipping coffee, enjoying apéro, and partaking in some people-watching. But when you want to escape the crowds and take in the city from above, it’s time to head to the rooftops.
From trendy hotel terraces to quiet hidden gems, Paris offers no shortage of rooftop bars where you can sip champagne or a signature cocktail while taking in the skyline. Here are the 10 best rooftop bars in Paris, plus all the top spots to catch breathtaking views of the French capital’s most iconic landmarks, from the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Cœur to the Arc de Triomphe.
If you’re planning an evening in the city, don’t forget to consult my guide on what to wear to dinner in Paris.
1. Sequoia Rooftop Bar at Kimpton St. Honoré
Address: 27-29 Bd des Capucines, 75002 Paris
For a memorable experience overlooking Paris, Sequoia at the Kimpton St. Honoré is the place. Just steps from Palais Garnier, this elegant rooftop bar and garden offers 360° views of iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Opéra Garnier and Sacré-Cœur.
By day, you can soak in the Parisian sunshine while sipping on one of their signature cocktails. When the sun starts to set, the atmosphere becomes much more intimate and glamorous.
You’ll see more tourists than locals here, but it’s one of those rare touristy spots that actually lives up to the hype. The staff are incredibly welcoming and the views are some of the best in all of Paris.
Keep in mind that there is a €50 minimum spend per person, so it’s more of a special-occasion spot or one to treat yourself to, especially if it’s your first time in Paris.
2. Le Perchoir Ménilmontant
Address: 14 Rue Crespin du Gast, 75011 Paris
Hidden atop an old industrial building in the 11th arrondissement, Le Perchoir Ménilmontant is where trendy Parisians go when the golden hour hits.
Head up to the 7th floor where you’ll find a leafy rooftop terrace filled with comfy cushions, climbing vines and views that stretch all the way to the Sacré-Cœur. The vibe is lively and trendy, with a menu of creative cocktails and a crowd that keeps things buzzing well into the evening.
If you're in the mood for dinner, be sure to make reservations for the restaurant on the 6th floor. It’s a great spot to enjoy cocktails, dinner, and after-dinner drinks all in one place.
The rooftop is spacious, but it fills up fast, especially around sunset. Arrive early to snag a good spot, or book a table downstairs to enjoy the view without the wait. Either way, that 360-degree panorama of the Paris skyline is worth it.
3. The Shed at Grands Boulevards Experimental
Address: 17 Bd Poissonnière, 75002 Paris
Tucked above the Hotel des Grands Boulevards, The Shed feels like a countryside retreat in the heart of Paris. While it might not offer sweeping city views like other rooftop bars, what it lacks in skyline, it more than makes up for in charm and coziness. Gorgeous greenery, soft lighting, and plush seating all create a tranquil escape from the Parisian hustle and bustle.
The menu features expertly crafted cocktails alongside an excellent selection of wine and champagne. Since space is limited, it’s best to book ahead or arrive early to snag a seat. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, head down to The Shell, the hotel’s chic cocktail bar on the ground floor.
4. The Rooftop at Hotel Dame des Arts
Address: 4 Rue Danton, 75006 Paris
Located in the Latin Quarter, The Rooftop bar at the Hotel Dame des Arts is a favorite among visitors to the City of Light. Enjoy apéro hour with a spritz, glass of wine or cocktail while taking in incredible views of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.
On the other side of the rooftop, Pimpam serves a gastronomic menu in a green, garden-like setting, led by Chef Clément Courtemanche, a two-time Michelin Bib Gourmand winner. Reservations are highly recommended and open 7 days in advance.
5. Le Toit de la Tour
Address: 15 Quai de la Tournelle, 75005 Paris
A hidden gem with a historic feature, Le Toit de la Tour is one of Paris’s newest rooftop bars, situated just above La Tour d’Argent—the city's oldest restaurant, dating back to 1582. It opened last summer but has already become a favorite in the French capital.
A lush green space with zinc accents, aromatic flowers, and breathtaking views of the Seine and Pont de la Tournelle, it’s a lovely setting to enjoy a cocktail or glass of champagne. A more casual alternative to the Michelin-starred restaurant downstairs, it’s still incredibly chic.
The rooftop is open seasonally all evening, and while reservations aren't always required, it’s worth arriving early.
6. Terrass'' Rooftop Bar
Address: 12 Rue Joseph de Maistre, 75018 Paris
This relaxed rooftop bar, nestled on the 7th floor of the Terrass Hotel, is a lush little escape in one of Paris’s most iconic neighborhoods. The terrace is both stylish and intimate, decorated with greenery, parasols, and cozy seating that makes it ideal for a romantic date night or a laidback evening with friends.
You’ll be treated to panoramic views of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The vibe is relaxed yet refined, with a menu offering signature cocktails, wines, spirits, and even afternoon tea.
The Montmartre rooftop is open year-round (covered and heated in the winter), making it a reliable spot no matter the season.
7. Perruche at Printemps Haussmann
Address: 2 Rue du Havre 9ème étage, 75009 Paris
If you’re spending the day shopping at Printemps Haussmann, you have to head upstairs to Perruche. This rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar serves classic Provençal cuisine in a setting that feels like an urban oasis. Perruche means parakeet in French—and up here, perched above the city, you'll definitely feel like one. With summery yellow accents, lush greenery, and a lively musical playlist, it’s like being in the south of France right in the heart of the city.
It's not my favorite spot for a full meal, but it’s perfect for a post-shopping pick-me-up. Grab a coffee, a frozen cocktail, or a slice of cake and soak in the 360° views of Paris.
8. ROOF at Hôtel Madame Rêve
Address: 48 Rue du Louvre, 75001 Paris
Set high above the historic Louvre post office, ROOF is one of the city's most impressive rooftop destinations. This lush, 1,000m² garden in the sky offers panoramic views of Saint-Eustache Church, Beaubourg, the Panthéon, and rooftops in every direction.
Sprawl out on lounge seating under expansive windows that flood the space with light, or sip a cocktail under the open sky. The menu features Japanese-inspired sharing plates and beautifully crafted drinks.
Do note: there’s a €50 minimum spend per person, and the dress code is chic and elegant. I would avoid wearing athleisure, shorts, sneakers, and flip-flops. Reservations are also strongly recommended.
Another tip: start with lunch at La Plume’s patio, then make your way up to ROOF for a scenic afternoon apéritif.
9. Le Tout-Paris
Address: 8 Quai du Louvre, 75001 Paris
Seven floors above the Pont-Neuf inside the five-star Cheval Blanc Paris, Le Tout-Paris is a Michelin-starred rooftop brasserie with some of the most breathtaking views in the city. From the open-air terrace, you can take in panoramic vistas of the Seine, Eiffel Tower, and Notre-Dame, all in one sweeping glance.
Inside, the space is welcoming, speckled with red and yellow seating, refined for a gourmet meal or sunset drink. While the bar is walk-in only, the restaurant requires a reservation, and it's best to book well in advance (like most popular places in Paris).
You can expect to pay around €20-30 for a cocktail or glass of wine. Definitely premium prices, but they might just be worth it for the Parisian views!
10. Bramble at Les Ombres
Address: 27 Quai Jacques Chirac, 75007 Paris
Looking for one of the best rooftop bars in Paris with a front-row view of the Eiffel Tower? Don’t miss Bramble, the chic cocktail bar at Les Ombres on the rooftop of the Musée du Quai Branly.
While Les Ombres is known for its upscale dining under the direction of Chef Alain Ducasse, Bramble offers a more relaxed experience with crafted cocktails, fine wines, and gourmet tapas and snacks.
A lot of tourists flock here for photos in front of the Eiffel Tower, but the up-close view is absolutely worth it. Consider timing your visit around sunset to see Paris’s most famous landmark when it sparkles.
More Rooftop Bars in Paris
If I had to sneak in an 11th pick, it would be the intimate rooftop at Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers. Whether you stop by before dinner, after, or just in time for sunset, it’s a cool, low-key spot with incredible views and delicious cocktails.
Le Georges is another popular spot, located on top of the Centre Pompidou. This fine-dining restaurant and bar offers both indoor and terrace seating with beautiful views of Paris. Although I absolutely love the Centre Pompidou, I’m not as big a fan of the atmosphere here. The decor is a bit cold and futuristic. That being said, you might be enjoying the incredible scenery too much to care.
Hôtel Raphael is another elegant address with a rooftop bar, just steps from the Arc de Triomphe. During the summer, it’s a super spot to sip a cocktail with views of Paris’s most iconic landmarks, from the Eiffel Tower to the Sacré-Cœur. Just across the street is another luxe spot: L’Oiseau Blanc and Le Rooftop at the Peninsula Paris Hotel.
I wish I had known about the Brach Rooftop when I lived in the 16th arrondissement. This summer, the space is turning into a chic venue inspired by the French Riviera. Everything from the decorations to the menu has been chosen to recreate the atmosphere of the Saint-Tropez Peninsula. A true hidden gem worth discovering.
Maggie Rooftop at Hôtel Rochechouart features a stunning garden terrace on the 9th floor, offering some of the best panoramic sights of Sacré-Cœur in the city. You’ll find it right in the heart of Pigalle.
Cinema fans should not miss the open-air rooftop at Hotel Paradiso, not far from Place de la Nation. From June to September, the rooftop will be screening movies every Sunday at 10 p.m. And unlike most other Parisian rooftops, this one feels like an actual garden with trees, plants and even grass you can sink your feet into.
If you find yourself in the 20th arrondissement, Mama Shelter East offers one of the more relaxed rooftop vibes in Paris. Grab a burger or pizza, sip on a crafted cocktail, and enjoy a round of foosball with friends. No reservations needed. In the same neighborhood is Le Toit at La Bellevilloise, another casual rooftop with a Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere.
